Partner Organization
The Meso Foundation, founded in 1998 by Guatemalan engineer Julio Salazar, fights poverty at its roots by empowering communities through education, emotional well-being, and creative opportunity—work now carried on by his daughters and son-in-law.
Its three core initiatives are:
WHOlives supports communities through two meaningful areas of impact:
expanding clean water access and ending FGM. Employees can choose to
support one or both causes.
Through the Clean Water Initiative, WHOlives helps fund well
installation in communities with limited water access by using a
revolving loan model. As loans are repaid, those funds are reinvested
into new projects, helping create sustainable access to safe water and
long-term community benefit.
Through the Ending FGM Initiative, WHOlives supports girls at risk of
FGM (female genital mutilation) in Kenya through a humanitarian fund
focused on rescue, recovery, and prevention. Donations help provide
safe housing, school fees, and medical and legal support for girls and
young women fleeing violence, while also strengthening local education
and awareness efforts that work to prevent future harm.
